Accommodation means:
undermine productivity ... with a diversity of accommodations.
destroy merit-based systems ... with equity of outcome.
poison corporate culture ... with inclusion of paradoxes.
Adjacent means close to, but unaccountable.
when productivity fails, being unaffected by those failures:
Public Transit in Toronto has failed; but, I do not use it.
Gangs are taking over downtown office towers; but the companies in those towers do not hire me.
There have been three murders on my street this year; but they were not my tribe. Vandalism has fallen in my community, too.
There is a shoplifting gang in my local supermarket; but, I got to know them and I eat meat every day now.
When merit-based systems fail, gaming the system becomes the only game in town. Being adjacent means:
Knowing the game, knowing the rules, but having a personal set of victory conditions.Playing the game to avoid responsibility, violence, and, theft at work.

Beyond a doubt you are aware that Access stage has been in operation for some decades. You have witnessed decades of Accommodation. Now, we are seeing the 'leading edge' effects. Productivity is undermined, merit-based systems are gone, and, corporate culture is toxic.
If you are not close to the top of the victim hierarchy, then you will have more negative than positive effects. You are excluded. At the bottom of the victim hierarchy, you are being forced by Darwinian necessity to become adjacent.
Gone are the days of gloomy warnings. They were right. You are now adjacent. The numb will fade, and you will adapt to the new game.
Being adjacent can be fun.
